My boyfriend and I are celebrating our 1 year anniversary in June, and we want to go on a trip. Due to the weak dollar and expensive flights, Europe is no longer an option. We considered Costa Rica, but the flight taxes cost more than the actual flight ticket! We’re discouraged. We would REALLY like to leave the States, but can’t really think of any nice, sorta cheap places. We have a new credit card JUST for this trip, so I guess you could say that our budget is about $2,000.

My friend and I really want to go on a vacation somewhere (we live in Louisiana) and we were considering renting a car and going on a road trip to Colorado (I have relatives I could stay with there). We also considered going on a Cruise but I’m not sure how expensive that would be. We would need to spend money to eat and other small things but we’re not rich by any means.

These are just two ideas we’ve had but we were curious if anyone knows of any not-so-expensive vacation ideas (probably for about 4 or 5 days). I’m 21 year old male and she’s an 18 year old female if it helps.

I am looking for a great little place to take my wife and our (soon to be) one year old son on a quick little getaway to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the later part of June. I am a graduate student so we do have a limited budget. Our anniversary and our sons first birthday are within a couple of days of each other and we want to take a little mini-vacation together to the beach. We live in Memphis and want to head south!
