Best and cheap part of Vancouver, BC for vacation ?

I am planning a vacation in Vancouver next month for about 3 weeks.

Any suggestions on where should I stay (affordable) in Vancouver (which part like downtown etc.) ?

Does anyone know of a bed and breakfast, hotel which is reasonable for the long stay ?

    there is hotel that we stayed in for a few days when we last went to Vancouver .. and are staying in it agin this summer called the YWCA. It is pretty plain and simple and doesn’t include breakfast but about 2mins walk down the road there is a breakfast place called Ricky’s that is nice.

    I have sent a couple of links about where it is and more info on it
